Does Product Nerve AI use my startup idea to train its AI models?

No. Your idea, your validation answers, and everything you upload to a project are not used to train any AI model, by us or by our AI providers.

We're answering this as its own short, direct piece because it's the single most common fear founders have before putting an unlaunched idea into any AI powered platform, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a paragraph buried inside a longer policy.

Here's exactly what happens to your content. When you run validation or generate something in a studio tool, the relevant content, your answers, your uploaded files, prior documents in the same project, is sent to one of our AI providers, currently Anthropic or Google, purely to produce the output you asked for. That's the entire purpose of the exchange: generate your report, generate your PRD, generate your pitch deck. Once the output is returned to you, that's the end of that content's journey through the AI provider.

What does not happen. Your content does not get added to any training dataset. It is not used to make the underlying AI models better at anything, for us or for anyone else. It is not retained by the AI provider beyond what's needed to generate your specific response. This is a contractual commitment in our agreements with every AI provider we use, it's not a policy we're hoping is true, it's a term we've specifically negotiated and rely on.

Why this matters practically for you. It means your competitors, if they're also using Product Nerve AI, are not somehow benefiting from insights extracted out of your idea. It means the specific way you've described your business, your positioning, your numbers, doesn't leak into some general pool that improves outputs for other users. Every generation the platform produces for you is grounded in your project's own context, not in some blended knowledge that includes everyone else's ideas.

One honest caveat, worth stating. Our staff can, in narrow support situations, access account data to help resolve an issue, and that access is logged and restricted. That's a human support action, not an AI training action, and it's a different question from the one this article answers. We cover exactly how staff access works in our Data Handling Policy.

If you take one thing from this: putting your idea into Product Nerve AI to get it evaluated does not mean giving it away. It's processed to serve you, once, for the thing you asked it to do, and that's the whole extent of it.
